How does Pipe Pulling work?
The Pipe Puller concept is a simple, trenchless technique for pipe replacement.
Firstly, a strong steel pulling cable is fed through the old pipe which is being removed. The pulling cable has a special pulling attachment on the end and this engages with the old pipe. The other end of the cable is fixed onto the Pipe Puller machine. The machinery pulls out the pipe and a new pipe is then towed into place following the same pathway as the old pipe.

KOBUS PIPE PULLER KPP300 / KPP400
There are two categories of Kobus Pipe Pullers for pipe replacement. The first, and the original, is the Kobus Pipe Puller KPP300. This machine is modular for ease of handling and is driven from its own separate hydraulic power pack. The second Puller is the KPP400 which mounts on an excavator and is powered by the auxiliary hydraulics of the excavator.

TOWING HEADS

A low friction leader cable is used to check if the old pipe is free of obstructions before inserting the pulling cable. A reusable pipe expanders to create extra access for larger diameter pipe installations. Also, the KPP400 Series Pipe Puller requires an adaptor plate to allow the puller to be attached to an excavator.
