How does the point patch repair work?
For the pipe patch repair, firstly, the two-part resin is measured and mixed according to the project needs. Then it is spread and soaked on a fiberglass matting material, which is folded and soaked with resin on each layer.
Inflatable packers are used to carry the patch to the repair point, and then inflate and hold it to-place until the resin cures and forms a solid new surface within the pipe. Point repairs are mainly used in straight pipes where you have direct access (eg. from a manhole), but there are also flexible packers available for use on corners.

PIPE PATCH REPAIR PACKERS
There are three types of packers, the standard packer which is mostly used in smaller diameter and straight repairs, the flexible bendy packers that can go through or repair a corner, and the wheeled packers, for better control in larger diameters and longest distances. Over DN300 also available in annular (flow-through) design to allow water to flow through the centre of the packer. This allows the pipe to remain in operation during the installation.
AIR PUSH RODS
Air push rods are typically used to insert and inflate packers for patch repairs to drains and sewers. You can connect several rods to achieve the required length.
FIBERGLASS MATTING
Fibre glass matting is available on rolls or pre-cut in patch repair kits which include pre-measured resin for the desired pipe diameter and other materials.
PATCH REPAIR RESIN
Options available for ambient cure resin, special fast-cure hardeners for cold temperatures or applications requiring a quick result, and, hot weather hardeners for longer working time at higher temperatures. Also available pre-measured in patch repair kits which include pre-cut matting and other materials for a single repair.
Patch repair kits
Patch repair kits are available which include pre-measured resin, pre-cut (to-size) matting and other materials for a single repair. They are very handy especially when you are starting-up your trenchless point repair service company, as they give you the option to not keep bulk stock.

POINT REPAIR
Recommended for damaged sewer pipes, where pieces of the pipe are missing and where structural strength is needed.
The method uses a piece of liner (patch) that is layered with a special resin, which is wrapped around an inflatable packer and pushed into the pipe towards the damaged area where it bonds with the inside of the pipe and hardens.
